Who we are

The Scottish Fishermen’s Federation – representing Scotland’s fishermen for fifty years.

The Scottish Fishermen’s Federation works to promote and protect the interests of its constituent Associations. Those Associations represent a wide spectrum of the Scottish fishing fleet. Geographically diverse and representing everything from small inshore vessels to large trawlers, they are involved with catching demersal fish - white fish such as cod, haddock, saithe and monkfish; pelagic fish - species such as mackerel, herring and blue whiting; and shellfish including prawns, crab, scallops and lobster.

SFF works with our Associations to engage with governments – both the UK and Scottish Governments – to ensure that the sector’s voice is heard by policy makers, seeking to ensure that fisheries policy in our waters is informed by a good understanding of the industry’s perspective and the practical reality of fishing.

With half a century of experience, SFF is well placed to help the industry thrive in the decades ahead and is looking forward to the future.
