SAFE SEAS
~

Helping to keep crew and vessels safe at sea.

As the number of offshore wind farms, subsea cables and other subsea structures increase — alongside what’s already in place from the oil and gas sector — so do the potential risks to fishermen and their vessels. To help mitigate some of these hazards, SFF are proactive in their approach to sharing information with fishermen.

FishSAFE AND KIS-ORCA

SFF have been extensively involved in the introduction of FishSAFE units onboard the vast majority of the Scottish fishing fleet. This system provides vital information on oil and gas related surface and subsea structures, promoting safer fishing activities for the fleet.

Similarly, the Kingfisher Information Service - Offshore Renewable and Cable Awareness (KIS-ORCA) project provides information to fishermen on subsea cables and renewables structures around the UK.

SFF Services Limited distributes regular FishSAFE Information System and KIS-ORCA updates to all Scottish fishing vessels, along with updated information from Kingfisher on suspended wellhead.
