The Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF) is throwing its support behind Seafood Week(9 – 16 October) by launching a series of new information sheets on some our most popular types of fish called ‘Your Sustainable Fish Choice’.

Each day throughout Seafood Week, the SFF will focus on a different type of fish, as well as highlighting some great-tasting recipes on its Fishing for the Truth website . The fish and shellfish that will come under the SFF spotlight are cod, haddock, whiting, saithe, mackerel, herring, plaice and langoustines.

Bertie Armstrong, chief executive of the SFF, said: “The seas around our coasts abound with fish and shellfish that are harvested sustainably by our fishermen. We are delighted to participate in Seafood Week so as to highlight the fantastic range of home-caught fish that consumers can enjoy eating.”

Seafood Week is organised by Seafish and aims to get people to eat more fish. More information at www.seafish.org/eating-seafood/seafood-week
